The Great Bridge – Resurrection Sunday
The Bridge to Eternal Life

The Bridge to Eternal Life

Today we celebrate the Great Bridge.

So what happened that day that Jesus walked out of the tomb? When Jesus walked out of that tomb, it was like Daniel walking out of the lions den, or David defeating Goliath, they had concord their enemy, they had one the fight. So too did Jesus when He walked out of that tomb. Being resurrected from the dead meant that He had won the battle. Jesus had concord evil and death, and by doing so, He had built a bridge that we can freely walk across to salvation. A toll free bridge made up of all our sins, all our imperfection, His suffering and most of all His blood.

Sometimes the bridge is long and rough and sometimes short and sure. But one thing is certain, this Bridge was built for you and me. Without it we have no hope of getting to the other side, no hope of the prize. No hope of an inheritance that is granted to those who choose to cross. Yes, you do have a choice, you don’t have to cross. And yes, today you might decide not to cross; you say the bridge will be there tomorrow, I’ll cross it another day. But one thing I should tell you before you decide to wait. There does come a time that this bridge goes away. It’s that time of our death, and we don’t know that day. The bridge of the cross is here for you and me, but you must choose to cross it, while you can still breath…..

Thank you Jesus for your teaching, your love, your hope, your grace, your, mercy, your suffering, your death and your resurrection. I know Lord that you did this for me, and I’m so glad that I decide to cross that bridge.

I pray that others will choose today to cross the bridge, to accept Your love and mercy. That they would choose to let you conquer their sins, their worries and their fears. I pray that you would be Lord of their lives and King for eternity.

Amen
