We All Know Politicians Go To Hell

No, Politicians don’t go to Hell
just for being a politician
But I got your attention!

Got your attention didn’t I!

(Php 1:15)
Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill:

(Php 1:16)
The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains;

(Php 1:17)
but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.

When I see these verses I see politician trying to get votes. Saying what they need to say, kissing babies, shaking hands and making people feel like ther’re the only ones that can solve all their problems. We just went through 2 years of that with President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney.

Well I hate to point this out, but people do the same thing with the word of God today. They preach the gospel in half truths, they make it work to their benefit. They make Gods word fit their agenda.  Selfish ambition anyone???

Unfortunately when Paul was in prison there were those that wanted him to stay there. My thought is that they would preach the parts of the gospel that would enrage the rulers against Paul and worsen his punishment.

And then there were those who were strengthened and encouraged by Paul. They went out and preached the gospel in love and sincerity. They were encouraged by what Paul told them in verses Php_1:12-14. Paul says, being in prison has turned out for the furtherance of the gospel.

So what is the moral of the story? Don’t be a politician with your faith. We all know that politicians go to Hell…. I’m kidding, I’m just kidding..

The moral of the story is the same as it was yesterday, today and tomorrow… Be sincere in your faith, in your walk with the Lord. Love Him and get to know Him. Lean on Him and share Him in truth with the world…
